The beloved RHS Flower Show is gearing up for an exciting change in 2025, with a grand relocation that marks a new chapter for one of the UK’s most iconic gardening events. After years of success at Tatton Park, the Royal Horticultural Society is moving the show to Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire. This shift isn’t just about a venue change—it’s about welcoming a broader audience and introducing the joys of gardening to new communities.
A Stunning Historic Venue for Floral Elegance
With its rich history, breathtaking gardens, and stunning architecture, Wentworth Woodhouse provides the perfect backdrop for this floral spectacle. Wentworth Woodhouse, a Grade I listed mansion near Rotherham, will host the prestigious flower show for the first time. The sprawling estate, known for its 600-foot Palladian façade, will offer visitors a unique experience, blending history with breathtaking floral displays.
Unlike previous editions, this year’s show won’t be limited to the gardens. Organisers plan to extend the event into the mansion’s lavish interiors, including its grand ballroom. Visitors can expect stunning floristry installations, interactive workshops, and even a fruit and vegetable competition inside the historic halls.
Sarah Poll, the RHS Head of Shows Development, called the venue “absolutely stunning” and said it would provide a fresh take on the event. With the show leaving its long-time home at Tatton Park, this move aims to attract new audiences while still delighting long-time visitors.
Expanding Gardening’s Reach Across South Yorkshire
The RHS wants to bring gardening to more people, and moving the show is a big part of that plan. This year, it will target a new crowd in South Yorkshire, a region buzzing with cultural and economic growth.
Sarah McLeod, CEO of Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust, said the move reflects the area’s rising profile. She noted that Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Rotherham are gaining recognition, and the RHS show adds to the excitement.
The RHS also confirmed that while Wentworth Woodhouse is the 2025 venue, the show will head to Norfolk’s Sandringham Estate in 2026. Meanwhile, Tatton Park will continue hosting the event every three years. With this new chapter, the RHS Flower Show is set to flourish like never before.
