Prepare for the Abbey Farm Flower Festival, which takes place on August 24–26, 2024, during the Bank Holiday weekend. This event promises a delightful mix of walks, talks, and workshops that cater to everyone. Additionally, you are welcome to enter any of the five incredible competitions offering incredible prizes.
Competition at the Flower Festival
This year, the Flower Festival will host five competitions, open to everyone. You can enter by bringing your submissions on Saturday morning, August 24th, to the Tithe Barn, or by dropping them off a day early on Friday, August 23rd. The winners will be selected by public vote, making it a fun and engaging experience.
- Create a Miniature Garden: The winner gets an annual family pass (for four) to Abbotsbury Swannery.
- Floral Arts & Crafts: The winner receives an annual family pass (for four) to Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens.
- A Vase From My Garden: The winner gets two spots in a Christmas Wreath Workshop by Abbey Farm Flowers.
- Best Floral Outfit: The most creative outfit wins a £100 gift voucher for use at From My Mother’s Garden or Colmers Hill Fashion Boutique. To enter, have your photo taken in our photo booth at From My Mother’s Garden (Workshop 3) any day during the weekend.
- Abbotsbury Village Floral Door Decoration: Entries should be displayed over the bank holiday weekend. The winner enjoys lunch for two at Cherries Cafe, and two runners-up will each receive a cream tea for two.
Festival Schedule
The Abbey Farm Flower Festival has a packed schedule that spans Thursday, August 22nd, through Monday, August 26th. Each day features a variety of activities tailored to different interests. One highlight is the Folk Music Walk, which takes you on a historical journey around Abbotsbury, guided by two professional folk musicians. The walk, which combines music with the area’s rich history, takes place on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Abbey Farm Flowers.
