Lucanne B.V.: Connecting Breeders, Growers, and Retailers
Lucanne B.V., based in the Netherlands, specialises in bridging the gap between breeders, growers, and retailers. The company focuses on:
- Brand development
- Supply chain optimisation
- Retail strategy
By transforming ideas into commercial solutions, Lucanne ensures sustainable growth for all stakeholders in the horticultural sector.
Global Expansion for Heliconia
Lucanne has ambitious plans to commercialise the Heliconia product line worldwide. The breeding programme will prioritise:
- The breeding programme will prioritise compact growth, which allows for easier handling, transportation, and cultivation.
- It will also focus on early flowering, ensuring that growers benefit from faster production cycles and increased yields.
- Improved performance in cooler climates will make Heliconia plants more accessible, enabling growers in different regions to cultivate them successfully.
These enhancements will make Heliconia plants more accessible and versatile for both growers and gardeners.
Dümmen Orange’s Confidence in Lucanne
Tosca Ferber, Chief Technology Officer at Dümmen Orange, expressed her support for the transition. “We have more than 10 years of breeding efforts in this crop, and it’s rewarding to see this effort continue. I have no doubt that this product has a fantastic future under Perry’s commercial leadership,” Ferber said.
With Lucanne B.V. leading the next phase, Heliconia breeding is set for a bright and innovative future.
