The UK horticulture industry came together for a night of fun and fundraising at the third annual Perennial Partners Pie and Pint event. Held at Steam Wine Bar in Monument, London, the gathering raised over £3,800 for Perennial, the charity that supports horticultural workers and their families.
With nearly twice the number of attendees compared to previous years, the event proved to be a resounding success. Industry professionals enjoyed great food, lively conversation, and a quiz that had everyone engaged. More than just an evening out, the event highlighted the community spirit that drives the horticulture industry forward.
A Night of Giving
This year’s event attracted a record crowd, demonstrating the growing support for Perennial. Guests included landscapers, growers, designers, and suppliers, all eager to connect while contributing to a meaningful cause.
David Dodd, founder of The Outdoor Room, served as quizmaster, keeping the 96 attendees entertained with a mix of challenging questions and witty banter. The auction and raffle added to the excitement, with prizes generously donated by industry supporters. Every ticket sold and every bid placed helped fund Perennial’s vital work.
The relaxed setting encouraged networking, with industry colleagues sharing experiences and strengthening relationships. Many attendees noted that the event provided a rare opportunity to socialise outside of work while giving back to the community.
Perennial Partners Applaud Community Spirit & Support
The night’s success was not just about fundraising. It was a testament to the industry’s commitment to helping its own. Steve Harper, CEO of Southern Trident, praised the event for bringing people together:
“Being a Perennial Partner means a lot to us. It’s about supporting the people who keep this industry thriving.”
Neil Stead of Steady Consulting echoed this sentiment, saying, “The atmosphere was brilliant! The quiz was epic, and the pie and pints went down perfectly.”
With the night exceeding expectations, there’s already excitement for next year’s event. If this momentum continues, the next Pie and Pint fundraiser could break even more records.
